The Tourist (2010)

The Tourist movie has an intricate plot, which is sure to keep you in suspense all the time while watching it. The movie starts with our meeting an American tourist by the name of Frank (Depp), who is a rather handsome man. He came to Italy, as he had though it would be the best place to mend his broken heart and to forget about his past and have a peaceful and calm life. But everything goes in a different way, as the universe has another vision of what life he needs. Soon he meets a very extraordinary woman with a beautiful name Elise (Jolie).But Elise is not that simple and naïve as she appears: she deliberately crosses Frank`s path to mislead Alexander Pearce, who is a very dangerous criminal wanted in many countries. Alexander Pearce has stolen a big amount of money from a famous gangster (Berkoff) and now he is pursued by an agent (Bettany). But Alexander is not just a criminal, he is Elise`s former lover, which makes the story even more complicated. Frank, who was eager to have a life full of serenity and calmness tries to forget this beautiful but dangerous woman, but soon finds himself a target and understands that there in no way back as they are already caught in a whirlwind of passion and danger. But soon the characters realize that they are just pieces played by some unknown genius mastermind of the game.

This is a captivating love story, where two completely different people fall in love: elegant and sophisticated and educated Elisie and a guy who is not like that at all. And though Elisie had a well thought-out plan on what to get from Frank, it all went wrong. As the result her whole world becomes confused and her heart becomes sensitive and vulnerable. Neither Elisie nor Frank had thought it would be possible to fall in love with each other, but it did happen and now they will have to overcome all the difficulties to be together and enjoy their love.

The Tourist movie 2010, how was it all made?
The project has been changed several times: in the beginning the movie was set with Lasse Hallström but soon he left and Bharat Nalluri came on. Soon, however, Bharat Nalluri also left because the project faced some difficulties. Then Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck came to direct The Tourist but soon left and only after many names were mooted Donnersmarck returned and became the director.

Charlize Theron was going to play Elisie, but then Angelina was set to play this role.
Nor was Depp chosen in the beginning to play Frank: originally it was Tom Cruise, who was then replaced by Sam Worthington. Only after that Johnny Depp was chosen to play Frank and so he replaced Worthington.

Filming of The Tourist began in Paris on 23 February 2010 with just Angelina and moved to Venice on March 1st where Johnny Depp joined her.
